Starting on September 1, travellers who have overstayed their visa limits can apply for a two-month visa amnesty program offered by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to the authorities the scheme is designed to let overstayers regularise their resident status or return to their home countries without penalty.
It was also intended to handle their concerns lawfully to avoid potential fines or jail time. It also allowed those with expired papers to change their status or leave the country without facing legal consequences.

Residents who have remained in the nation unlawfully after their residency visas expired, tourists who have lingered over the validity of their visit visas, and children born in the UAE whose parents have not applied for residency on their behalf are all eligible applicants.
The amnesty scheme likewise covers those who have escaped their sponsors. Amnesty applications are not, however, open to anyone who entered the nation illegally.
It’s an opportunity for all infringers to modify their position within the nation, according to a statement issued by Maj Gen Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Head of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security. Regarding human rights, the program will improve the nation’s standing.
“By changing their status, we intend to support individuals who opt to stay in the country, enabling them to secure their rights, exit the country securely, or locate work and a decent place to reside.”
Amnesty can be obtained by applicants at some sites throughout the Emirates.
