To identify the motivators driving the demand for second citizenship, the researchers used a mixed-methods study approach to explore the motivations for pursuing second citizenship and the importance of each element.
According to data from the worldwide survey on the priorities of high net worth individuals, 36.9% of participants ranked “Quality of Life” as the most important factor to take into account when considering citizenship.
When questioned about what areas, if any, they believe the current government is failing Respondents stated that their governments were failing to provide for their requirements in the areas of healthcare, environmental sustainability, and a competitive economy.
The survey results indicated that another factor driving the decision to obtain a second citizenship is safety and security. Safety and security make up 25% of a country’s World Citizenship Index (WCI) score, which gauges how much greater safety and security alternative citizenship can provide for its citizens.
