To make things easier for everyone who needs the document, New Zealand has chosen to shift the transit visa application process online.
According to VisaGuide.World, the new regulation is anticipated to take effect on August 12 of this year, as explained by New Zealand Immigration (NZ).

The Enhanced Immigration Online system will be used to apply for a Transit Visa after this regulation goes into effect.
The Transit Visa application process will no longer require applicants to submit paper applications through Visa Application Centres. This will result in a more simplified and effective application process, as well as the elimination of application processing fees.

Fiji Will Be Added to New Zealand’s List of Transit Visa Exempt Countries Starting Next Month
According to NZ, efforts are underway to make the online application category available to these citizens as well.
Next month, New Zealand will add Fiji to its list of countries for whom transit visas are waived.
Fiji will now be covered by New Zealand’s Transit Visa Waiver program. Fijian citizens will be able to apply for a NZeTA Transit rather than a transit visa as of September 4, 2024. Particularly, travellers passing via Auckland International Airport are covered by NZeTA Transit.
Nationals of Fiji may apply for a NZeTA to travel via New Zealand as of this date. Even after the waiver takes effect, if you already have a Transit Visa that has been approved, it will stay valid until its expiration date.

The majority of NZeTA claims are valid for up to two years and can be handled in less than 72 hours.
Travellers from Fiji Who Still Require a Visa to Enter New Zealand:
Those citizens of Fiji who plan to go to, study in, or work in New Zealand must still apply for the necessary visa in advance. There are no transit facilities at the airports in Wellington or Christchurch, so anyone flying Fiji Airways to or from Fiji will still need to apply for a visiting visa.
